Wonderful Place. Reasonable Prices (for Alaska). Went in July of 2016 after touring Denali. Long drive across the Denali Highway, and we were ready for hot grub and drinks. The rooms are nice. Comfortable. Not fancy, but you are in the middle of the Denali Wilderness. There is NOTHING else out there. Spent a beautiful evening sitting on the patio of our room viewing the Glacier and sipping on Scotch. We stopped here because of a flat tire and they had the only tire repair shop on the entire Denali highway. So we ended up staying for dinner too. Good services. Standard but decent fares in the restaurant. Nice gift shop. I have spent several days here for the past two summers and am planning to return this summer. I am a long time Alaska resident and this is one of my favorite destinations in our great state. Services along the highway where the lodge is located are very limited, yet the lodge manages to make you feel right at home. To the guy whining about them "catering" to Princess tours, of course they do! There is nowhere near enough local traffic along this route to support any kind of business. If you can't be bothered to switch seats so that the lodge staff can accommodate a group, keep stay your curmudgeonly, entitled a** at home. Hardworking staff, comfortable lodging, good food and reasonable prices (for the area). They are easily your best bet within 100 miles. Stopped by for coffee but ended up eating their delicious maclaren pie with homemade ice cream. Great service and friendly owner. This place definitely caters to Princess tours. Went there for coffee during hunting season. No greetings or service by staff. They were scrambling for next tour bus. We sat ourselves at a table, then were told to move to the bar due to bus. Midway through the coffee, the staff yells out we need to move a truck for the bus. We used that as clue, best to leave. Had to grab their attention to just pay the bill so we could leave. Not friendly to local Alaskans or hunters.
